This talk will provide an introductory overview of reinforcement learning and its key concepts. We will then focus on how InstaDeep is using reinforcement learning to solve real-world problems.

Speaker Bio

I am a PhD student at the RAIL Lab (University of the Witwatersrand) and an AI research engineer at InstaDeep. My PhD research focuses on model-based reinforcement learning — more specifically, I am looking at how models for intuitive physical reasoning tasks can be learned and then used within a reinforcement learning framework. My work at InstaDeep involves applying reinforcement learning to solve the combinatorial optimisation problem of 3D bin packing.
